IP Trunk Unit (IPTU) The IPTU is a gateway between two Cerato ME/LE systems allowing voice traffic to be carried over an IP-based data network. Full Cerato ME/LE-to-Cerato ME/LE feature transparency is supported via Teltronics Defined Networking (TDN). The IPTU connects thirty Cerato ME/LE ports directly to a 10/100BaseT connection to deliver 30 virtual trunk circuits over the IP network. These trunks can be assigned as point-to-point or multi-point. The IPTU is used with the Cerato ME/LE as well as legacy systems such as the MAP, LX, and LH. The IPTU connects to data network using either a front panel RJ45 jack, or terminated at the rear using an access assembly. Voice packets are encoded using G.711, and G.729a or G.729ab, with VAD/CNG support. |
