On October 5, 2007, Teltronics was recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Special Report on the Largest Public Companies. Teltronics placed 32nd on the list that was ranked by fiscal 2006 revenue. When ranked by market capitalization we placed 49th out of 50.  

What’s New...

Teltronics, Inc. (OTCBB: TELT), has been awarded a General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule Contract for Cerato SE, a cost-competitive and powerful converged voice and data communications system that addresses the requirements, challenges and budgets of the small business market.

“The Cerato SE solution provides more standard features and applications than most industry products of its type,” Richard Begando, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Teltronics said. “With this new GSA contract, we again reaffirm our commitment to expand our markets and make it easier for our customers to do business with us.” 

This GSA contract permits any government agency qualified to purchase under a GSA contract to buy from Teltronics directly, without requesting a competitive bid each time a system is needed.  Lead-time and procurement costs are reduced significantly because pricing is pre-negotiated as part of Teltronics’ GSA contract. 

Cerato SE joins other Teltronics products on the GSA contract including: the   20-20® large enterprise phone system, Cypreon® the pure VoIP system for medium-sized businesses, the TelidentTM Enhanced 911 system, and the Intelligent Systems Management line of SEB® NET-PATH and IRISnGEN®.

Hardware Enhancements...

In an effort to continue to provide products with the most up to date and efficient hardware components possible, NET-PATH® and NET-PATH Plus® units have been updated with a new chassis, main board, and internal power supply(s) for all NET-PATH models with the exception of NET-PATHm. The new chassis design improves access to the inside of the unit when performing battery maintenance or configuring strapping options. For the NET-PATH Plus model, the new design provides exposure of three LAN side switched hub ports from the Secure Router, along with additional diagnostic LEDs. The current hardware models will be discontinued as Teltronics phases in the new hardware, but they will continue to be supported with software updates, technical assistance, and hardware repairs.

In October 2007, NET-PATH units with the redesigned main board will begin shipping and will have the capability of responding to software commands that manage the back lighting. NET-PATH Application version 4.0 will provide the software component that allows control over the on/off timing of the back light, giving the display lighting a lifetime equal to or exceeding that of the NET-PATH. In addition, the back panel layout has been adjusted for more efficient use of the available space. For the NET-PATH Plus, additional LED indicators for the network and secure router statuses have been implemented. 

Spotlight on Unified Communications and Education…

Unified Communications (UC) is a commonly used term for the integration of disparate communications systems and media, desktop computers, applications and mobility. This potentially includes the integration of voice both fixed and mobility, e-mail, instant messaging, desktop and advanced business applications, Internet Protocol (IP)-PBX, voice over IP (VoIP), presence, voice-mail, fax, audio video and web conferencing, unified messaging, unified voicemail, and whiteboarding into a single environment offering the user a more complete but simpler experience.

Education is at the forefront of utilizing unified communications, linking students, parents, teachers and school administrators. Through school hotline numbers, students and parents can access school information around the clock, such as homework assignments, field trips, school schedules, attendance information and more. Many of the unified communications systems in schools can transfer text –to-speech. Vital information such as a homework assignment or an absentee notification is easy to obtain, just by pressing a touch-tone number.

Let Teltronics Educate You!

Steve Witt educated attendees of the ACUTA Fall Seminar with his presentation entitled “Campus Security: What Technology Do I Need?”  His presentation focused on current and future technologies for effective campus security.  In addition, Teltronics was asked to participate in an educational panel concerning emergency communications solutions, in which Steve Witt also shared his knowledge of the 911 industry.
